Seva Bhoj (सेवा भोज)

Seva Bhoj (सेवा भोज)

Feeding as Devotion, An Offering to the Divine Beyond Desire

What if food became your love letter to the divine?

Seva Bhoj is an act of nishkaam bhakti, selfless devotion, where food is offered in the name of your Ishta Devata, your Guru, or a spiritual path you follow. It is not tied to the fulfilment of a wish, a vrat, or a samskaar. It is simply love. Love offered in the form of nourishment.

In the Bhakti tradition, feeding others in the name of God is one of the most powerful forms of seva. It purifies the ego, burns subtle karma, and deepens connection to the divine without seeking reward.

“Na me bhakta pranashyati”
Bhagavad Gita 9.31
“My devotee is never lost.”

You feed not to gain, but to give. You serve not to solve, but to surrender. Seva Bhoj turns ordinary food into prasad, and ordinary days into offerings of love.

Detailed Information

When should you offer this?

Seva Bhoj can be offered:
• On your Ishta Devata’s appearance day (Jayanti), or a Guru’s punya tithi.
• On any day of personal devotion or prayer.
• As part of a daily or monthly spiritual discipline.
• When you’ve received anugraha (grace) without having asked for it.
• Or simply… when you feel the heart surge to say, “Thank you.”

No particular event is needed. The heart’s intention (bhav) is enough.

Who should you feed?

Feeding in Seva Bhoj depends on the deity or intention:
• Sadhus, saints, and renunciates: For Shiva, Dattatreya, Hanuman, and moksha-aligned energies.
• Brahmins and Vedic scholars: For Vishnu, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Rama, or Gurus in the Sampradaya.
• Children and orphans: For Devi, Krishna, or Gopal-aligned seva.
• Cows (Gaumata): Universally auspicious, especially for Krishna, Gauri, or as part of Gau Seva.

Feeding becomes an act of worship. Every morsel is a mantra.

Blessing you Invite?

Seva Bhoj is not about asking, but blessings flow nonetheless:
• It deepens your bhakti bhaav, transforming you from seeker to server.
• You attract divine grace beyond logic or linear return.
• It dissolves ego and subtle karmas through humility and generosity.
• It creates a karmic bond between you and your deity, a bond of love, not transaction.
• It infuses your home and family with devotional energy, which protects and nourishes silently.

You give with no expectation… and the divine gives you more than you knew to ask for.

Is it right for me?

If your heart overflows for your deity…
If you’ve ever felt seen, protected, or carried in silence…
If you loved without asking why, this Bhoj is for you.

Seva Bhoj doesn’t need a reason. It just needs bhav.
Even if you’re not ritualistic or scripturally trained, your devotion is enough.

You may not have a temple. But the divine knows where your love comes from.

What you’ll receive?

Every Seva Bhoj offered through DharamKarm comes with:
• A Seva Record (PDF) in your deity or Guru’s name.
• Optional photos/videos of the Bhoj conducted with mantra and care.
• The inner peace of knowing: I gave love back to where it came from.

When it’s not about the outcome, it becomes eternal.

A story of faith

A young man in Delhi had no money, no job, and no idea how he was getting through each day. But every Thursday, he would light a diya for Sai Baba and whisper, “Thank you for keeping me alive.”

Years later, settled and stable, he offered Seva Bhoj, feeding 101 people in Baba’s name through DharamKarm.

When asked why, he simply said:
“He fed me when I had nothing. Now I feed in His name.”

That’s not ritual. That’s love.

How to offer this via. DharamKarm?

DharamKarm helps you channel your devotion into sacred action:
• Choose the deity, Guru, or spiritual lineage you’re offering in.
• Select who you wish to feed—Sadhus, Brahmins, children, cows, or all.
• Submit your devotional Sankalp (optional).
• We perform the Bhoj with mantra, sanctity, and full-hearted reverence.
• Receive your Seva Record.

No matter where you are, your love will find its way to the feet of the Divine.
