Spiritual & Ritual Questions

What is Annadaan, and why is it considered so sacred?

In Sanatan Dharma, Annadaan (offering food) is considered the highest form of charity, greater even than gold or knowledge.

It is believed that when you feed others, especially with intention (sankalp), you unlock blessings across karmic timelines, easing your own path and bringing peace to those you honour.

What is a Sankalp?

A Sankalp is your heartfelt intention, the prayer or purpose behind your offering. It can be as simple as “for my father's peace” or as specific as “for clearing financial blocks in my business.”

At Dharam Karm, you are invited to write your Sankalp in your own words.

Who can I offer a Bhoj for?

You can offer it for:

  • Yourself
  • A loved one (living or departed)
  • An unborn child or elderly parent
  • Or simply as a monthly act of spiritual seva

There are no limits, only your intention matters.

What are the different types of Bhoj/Services you offer?

We offer several Bhojs, each aligned with specific energies:

  • Pitru Bhoj : for ancestral peace and karmic release
  • Sankalp Bhoj : for specific prayers (health, career, marriage, etc.)
  • Sanskaar Bhoj : feeding others during life's most sacred rites such as birth, naming, initiation, marriage, or even death rites
  • Aanand Bhoj : feeding others in moments of joy
  • Udyapan Bhoj : final offering that completes a Vrat or spiritual observance
  • Parv Bhoj : offering Annadaan on auspicious days such as festivals,
tithis, planetary days, eclipses, solstices, and more
  • Seva Bhoj : food is offered in the name of your Ishta Devata, your Guru, or a spiritual path you follow
  • Niyam Sevas : Spiritual commitment to feed others on regular intervals

Process & Customization

How do I choose the right Bhoj for my need?

When you begin, we ask: What’s your intention?

Whether you’re facing health issues, delays in marriage, job stress, family tensions, or simply wish to express gratitude, Dharam Karm maps your intention to the most appropriate Bhoj.

You don’t need to know rituals. You only need to know your heart.

Can I write my own Sankalp?

Yes, You will be given a space to write your Sankalp freely, in your language, your emotion. This is your sacred vow, your intention, your prayer.

Whether it’s one line or many, it becomes the spiritual foundation of your offering.

Where will the Bhoj/Annadan be conducted?

All Bhojs are conducted by the Dharam Karm team at carefully selected temples, gaushalas, sadhu akhadas, or orphanages, chosen for their sanctity and alignment with each ritual type.

We do not disclose specific locations upfront to preserve the spiritual neutrality and non-commercial nature of each offering.

Rest assured: every offering is made with reverence, and every recipient is chosen with purity.

Can I book for a future date or recurring offering?

Yes, you can schedule your Bhoj for an immediate need, or book weeks or even months in advance for an upcoming tithi, birthday, or vow. Currently, our team is working on a subscription model and will be updated shortly on the website.

What do I receive after the Bhoj is completed?

Once your Bhoj is performed, you will receive a spiritually documented confirmation, including:

  • Digital Sankalp Certificate: summarising your intention and date of offering
  • Seva Pustika: a record of the seva and where/how it was performed
  • Photographs: of the actual Bhoj
  • Video clips: of the offering process

These serve not only as confirmation, but as a spiritual record of your offering.

How are these materials delivered to me?

You’ll receive your Bhoj deliverables via:

  • WhatsApp
  • Your personal dashboard on the Dharam Karm website

Everything is stored securely, and you’ll be notified once your Bhoj is complete.

How long does it take for the Bhoj to be completed?

You can also pre-book well in advance to ensure your offering aligns with the desired day or energy window.
