Sankalp Bhoj (संकल्प भोज)
Sankalp Bhoj (संकल्प भोज)
Feeding as an Offering of Will, Prayer, and Gratitude
What happens when a prayer becomes a promise… and a promise becomes an offering?
Sankalp Bhoj is a deeply personal ritual—an offering of food made upon the fulfilment of a heartfelt vow. Rooted in the sacred power of Sankalp Shakti (the strength of intention), it is performed when a desire, prayer, or inner resolve reaches completion.
Whether it was a whispered plea during illness, a vow made before an exam, or a silent promise in a moment of helplessness, when life responds, we give back. And we do so not with display, but with Annadaan—feeding others in the name of that divine contract.
Scriptures affirm that food offered with Sankalp becomes tapasya (austerity), yajna (sacrifice), and seva (service) rolled into one.
“Daanaṁ saattvikaṁ smṛtam — yattad deśe kāle ca pātre ca.”
— Bhagavad Gita 17.20
Charity offered at the right time, in the right place, to the deserving with no expectation—is the highest form of giving.
Sankalp Bhoj transforms moments of survival, victory, or gratitude into sacred echoes that ripple outward.

Detailed Information
When should you offer this?
Sankalp Bhoj is offered:
• When a wish has been fulfilled, be it recovery, promotion, childbirth, or marriage.
• After overcoming hardship, such as illness, court cases, or life-threatening events.
• On birthdays, anniversaries, or milestones, you once prayed for.
• As a vow before a major event: “If this happens, I will feed…”
It can also be offered simply as an expression of deep gratitude, without any material trigger.
Any day becomes sacred when your intent is true.
Who should you feed?
Choose recipients based on the nature of your Sankalp and your inner calling:
• Brahmins or Vedic scholars: For spiritual growth, moksha, or scriptural fulfilment.
• Needy children, labourers, or orphans: To honour protection, healing, or gratitude.
• Cows (Gaumata): For harmony, health, and dharmic blessings.
• Elders or sadhus: For ancestral grace and guidance.
Who you feed is your prayer’s vessel.
Feed them with humility, and your vow becomes a gift to the universe.
Blessing you Invite?
When Sankalp Bhoj is offered from the soul:
• Your gratitude gains karmic momentum, echoing back as peace and protection.
• You cleanse the ego or fear tied to the desire.
• You invite grace to stay, long after the goal is achieved.
• You ground your wish in dharma, so it becomes more than gain; it becomes growth.
• The blessings often extend to family, future intentions, and emotional healing.
This is how you turn your answered prayer into prasad for the world.
Is it right for me?
If you’ve ever said, “If this happens, I’ll do something sacred”…
If you’ve overcome something painful…
If your heart wants to give thanks, but words feel too small…
This Bhoj is your answer.
Sankalp Bhoj is not about wealth or scale.
It’s about returning the light, with reverence.
And if you're waiting for something to manifest, you can also offer it as a gesture of faith before the outcome arrives.
What you’ll receive?
With every Sankalp Bhoj offered through DharamKarm, you receive:
• A Sankalp Patra (PDF) with your intention, offering details, and blessings recorded.
• Photos/videos of the Annadaan if selected.
• A feeling of quiet completion—knowing your vow has been honoured in the eyes of the divine.
It’s not a service. It’s a spiritual acknowlegdement of your journey.
A story of faith
A cancer survivor once whispered during chemo, “If I survive, I’ll feed 100 people in your name, O Lord.”
Six months later, with his voice returning and reports cleared, he fulfilled his vow by organising meals for labourers and street children.
That Bhoj became a ritual. Others joined.
Now, every Purnima in his town is marked with Sankalp Bhoj.
His healing became food.
His food became seva.
His seva became a movement.
